The City of Whittlesea is growing quickly and our organisation is changing rapidly.? With over 1000 staff and predicted annual workforce growth over 7% per annum, we are a dynamic and diverse organisation. A new position within the senior human resources team has been developed to assist the organisation respond strategically to our workforce and organisational growth responding to issues such as attraction, retention, engagement and diversity. This experienced practitioner will provide support and advice to contribute to the ongoing strengthening of performance and culture at City of Whittlesea.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, this position has a primary focus in the development of contemporary HR strategies, programs and policies in the areas of workforce planning and EEO. While much work is already happening in these areas, this newly created position will ensure an integrated and strategic approach in particular to addressing workforce issues such as composition, retention and culture.
An additional specific focus of this role is supporting the Manager of Human Resources in employee and industrial relations with a specific focus on research and coordination of the consultative committee.
This position works across Whittlesea with team members at all levels, including managers and the executive providing the opportunity for involvement in shaping the organisation?s practice, capability and culture at the strategic and day to day levels.
Who we?re looking for
Your extensive strategic human resources background will have given you experience in the employee relations and workforce planning areas. You will have the capacity to research, analyse, develop higher level plans and policies and then be part of implementation and continuous improvement within the organisation. Your stakeholder management skills support you in building relationships both to strengthen your understanding of issues and to allow you to work collaboratively across disciplines.
On a personal level you are resilient, self-aware and articulate and demonstrate your ongoing personal and professional growth through your capacity to reflect, learn, develop and adapt.
You are Tertiary qualified in Business, HR, Psychology or a related discipline and/or have extensive practitioner experience as well as being proficient in computerised HR systems and workforce analysis tools.
