Facebook, Twitter may help find dog stolen at gunpoint in Town 'n Country

A French Bulldog owner is using Facebook to help find his pet, which was stolen at gunpoint.

Hillsborough deputies say Derek McComber was walking his dog, "Bueller", on Saturday, in his Town 'n Country neighborhood, off Waters Avenue and Pinehurst Drive, when two men pulled up in a Honda Civic. McComber says one of the men got out of the car, and asked what kind of dog he had. McComber told the man it was a French Bulldog, and the man replied, "Well, I'm taking it." McComber says the man was pointing a handgun at him. He says the man scooped up the dog, got in the car, and drove away.

A friend of McComber named "Christine" has now set up a page on Facebook, called Help Find Bueller. The page has already received more than a thousand "likes". She is also tweeting about the search for his dog using the handle @helpfindbueller. On the Facebook page, Christine says, "Believe me when I tell you there is no connection like these two have for each other."

Hillsborough deputies ask that anyone with information about the case call 247-8200, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477). You can also file a report anonymously online at www.crimestopperstb.com or text "CSTB plus your tip" to C-R-I-M-E-S (274637).
